Bust

  • Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of the bust, ensuring the tape is level and not too tight.
  • For accuracy, the individual should wear the bra they intend to use with the dress.
  • Make sure the person is standing straight with their arms relaxed at their sides.

Waist

  • Measure the natural waistline, typically located just above the belly button or at the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips

  • Position the measuring tape around the widest part of the hips and buttocks.
  • Ensure the tape is snug but not tight, and perfectly level all the way around.

Dress Length (optional)

  • Measure from the base of the neck (the hollow between the collarbones) to the desired length of the dress. For a quinceañera dress, this is usually floor-length.
  • If the dress includes crinoline or petticoats, take the added volume into consideration.

Height

  • Record the person’s height without shoes and then with the shoes they plan to wear on the event day to adjust the dress length accordingly.

Back (optional)

  • Measure across the shoulders, from one end to the other, to ensure the dress fits well in the upper back area.
